	Work for Hire	Licensing	Retainer
Explanationss	On occasion, we work for hire. We bill you at an hourly rate and you own license to the product we created on your behalf. Updates and revisions to you map can be done by you or by us at an hourly rate.	Many of our products are licensed. We maintain owership of our product and negotiate with you for use. Included in this licensing fee are updates and edits.	We can be your map managers—your go-to-guys. Put us on retainer. Your retainer insures immediate service for an agreed upon number of hours per year.
Advantagesss	You own the map. You are free to do your own updates and use the map in any way and as many times as you like.	We maintain the map updating it according to your wishes at no cost to you.	A retainer ensures that you are at the top of our list. When you need a product, we drop everything to get you what you need on schedule.
Disadvantagesss	Our most costly mapping option. You pay not only an hourly rate to create the map, but you also pay us to divest ourselves of our financial interest in it.	While our costs for licensing are not high, repeated use or map sharing can become expensive if each use is paid on an ala carte basis.	On rare occasions, organizations don't use their retained hours. This is a loss similar to not using alotted minutes on your cell phone. Is this a problem. Maybe not. Our experience shows us that most organizations find ways to use our services once they know that they have reliable cartographers to make their map plans come true.
